Elders

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;[b] not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. (First Peter 5:1-3 ESV)

The members of the Board of Elders serve the Our Saviour Lutheran Church by keeping watch with the pastor over the spiritual state of the congregation, giving attention to such matters and attendance at the divine service and communion attendance and safeguarding the preaching and teaching of the pure Word of God. They see to the care of the sick and needy, the erring and delinquent. The outreach efforts of the congregation are carried out under the supervision of the Board of Elders.

The Board of Elders meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6pm. Generally the meetings are held in private due to the confidential nature of the work. If you would like to speak to an elder, please contact the church office to arrange for a call.
