March 1 2026 —
We recognize that we need to be saved. God has graciously led us to know that He is holy and we are sinners. When Jesus said, “No one can enter the kingdom of God,” that included me and you. I do not deserve God’s blessing and neither do you.
But long ago, God declared that we would be blessed by a descendant of Abraham who turned out to be Jesus. The blessing is salvation—rescue from sin and death, and eternal life with God. We receive that salvation by faith in Jesus as our Savior. The good news is that faith is also God’s gift, imparted to me through the gospel.
One of the most amazing truths of Scripture, and the most comforting of all, is that despite the fact that we are sinners, God simply declares us through faith in Christ to be “saints”—to be “not-sinners.” That is exactly what I need! And you too!
