The Christian Is Planted by the Word

What is a Christian? Christians are sinners saved by grace. Christians strive to be what Christ wants them to be. We don’t always live up to that. Far from it. Therefore a Christian is someone who runs to Jesus for forgiveness. Look at the list below. The first thing we talked about two Sundays ago is something we fail at. As sinners we don’t always love God above all. The second theme our Scripture lessons talked about, which we considered last week week is part of the solution. We run to Jesus to receive rest for our souls by unburdening our guilt and cares on Him and receiving His comfort and strength.

This week’s definition of a Christian is all about something God does for us. God is the one who made us Christians. He did it by planting the Word in our hearts. God’s Word is powerful. It has the power to create faith and to sustain it. Let God plant and water His Word in your heart today.
