Sunday March 15 2026 —
We human beings are spiritually blind by nature. Like Pontius Pilate skeptically and sarcastically asked Jesus in our Wednesday Lenten Service, “What is truth?” By nature, not only do we not know the truth, we don’t even want to. We don’t want to hear the truth about our sins.
Thank heaven God breaks through our blind ignorance and tells us the truth we need to hear so that we can “see the light.” Jesus is not only “The Way, the Truth and the Life,” He is also the “Light of the world.”
But that doesn’t change the fact that some people will fight against the light and the truth. God doesn’t force anyone to see. The religious leaders who despised Jesus were angry that people were following Jesus. Their anger blinded them and wouldn’t allow them to see. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
Thank God He has bathed us in the Light, opened our eyes, and led us to see the truth and believe. That’s just what we needed!
