Perhaps you have seen pictures like this one of the floods in and around Midland, Michigan. The church in the middle of the pictures is Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, a sister congregation in our Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The Rev. Paul Schneider and his wife live in the parsonage next door. The waters have completely flooded both church and parsonage. This morning, the Schneiders were evacuted by boat from their home and are safe. Our synod has sprung into quick action. Prayers have been requested and offered up by members all over the world. A relief fund has been set up for the congregation.
